Big updates and Town Hall summary

This week, we are trying something different. Due to the significant swathe of news that has arrived during the past couple of weeks, we‘ll give you a rundown of all the latest important information coming out of Keller Williams.

We begin with our impressive growth statistics from across quarter one, 2021. In the US and Canada alone, agents closed 272,688 transactions, totalling $98.1 billion in sales volume. These stats are up 21.3% and 39.7% respectively from the same time last year, an astronomical jump considering the economic uncertainty presented by COVID-19.

Keller Williams Worldwide (which includes KWUK) reported similarly staggering numbers, with agents closing on 13,088 transactions to the tune of $2.5 billion collectively, up 58.7% and 100%, respectively. Thats right; we had to doubletake too. Thats a 100% increase in sales volume from this time last year. This incredible feat is only achievable due to your hard work and the hard work of agents just like you across the globe. As of March 2021, agent count outside the US and Canada totalled 12,912, which is up 23.1% from Q1 2020.

Part of this incredible growth in Q1 involved us welcoming two new members to the KWUK leadership.

Paul Sloan joins as Operations Director for KW Move.

Paul is joining us to work with Jamie and the KW Move team to build and further develop the significant lettings opportunity for every one of our agents and market centres.

Will Clark joins as Director of Growth.

Will is tasked with identifying and attracting potential Market Centre operators and investors across the UK.  Will and KWUKs Regional Development Director, Wayne Albutt, will be working closely together to drive the growth of market centres across the UK, making KW more readily available to agents across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

Two fantastic additions to the leadership team, we wish Paul and Will all the best in what is sure to be an exciting time for the entire KWUK family. Speaking of the wonderful people that make up Keller Williams UK, here are some of the brilliant photos taken by members of the KWUK team across RED Day 2021. As many of you will know, we spent the entire day away from our regular lives and jobs to give back to our local communities in the form of a nationwide litter pick. The day was a great success, and not without tons of joy in sharing this wonderful collective experience after so long being disconnected from one another.

Finally, we would also like to breakdown all of the key announcements from last week’s Town Hall:

New Starters

We have 41 new Associates joined us in April, plus 17 new Associates since the start of May. Welcome to Paul Sloan, Operations Director at KW Move and Will Clark, Director of Growth at KWUK. Matt Thompson has taken over as OP for KW Prime Central London Market Centre from Ben.

We are now running monthly events to introduce KW to new investors and potential OPs – if you know anyone who might be interested do let Wayne and Will know. We have some key target areas we’re working on at the moment, including Birmingham, Guildford, Brighton and Portsmouth.

Market update

Chart Image: This shows annual house price changes since 2006 and you can see the ‘hockey stick’ from early 2020.

The Halifax says that prices were up 1.4% monthly and 8.2% annually.

The Nationwide says that prices rose 2.1% since last month and 7.1% annually.

Rightmove’s recent update recorded a 1.8% monthly increase in activity and a 6.7% increase year on year.

Lockdown Easing

We are gradually able to meet up again face to face, we can now hug and Market Centres are reopening! This is all very exciting for us all as we begin to regroup in our MC communities.

We are refocusing our approach by bringing Marketing in house, increasing the value you get from being a KW Agent, with added services for you to leverage if and when you need them.

KW Vision is nearly ready. Data is in the platform, we are currently testing and checking everything before we can officially roll out KW Vision We will be piloting in one Market Centre in early June and then rolling out quickly across the UK. The aim is for all MC’s to have access to KW Vision by the end of July. Lots of training and support to come.

KW Create has a new monthly pricing structure and new features so check it out if you want your own website

Julian Jacobs

Losing Julian has caused us to accelerate our plan to move forward with establishing KW Cares in the UK, a financial support system for KWUK family members who are in need.

Whilst we work on that, you can offer support to Julian’s family through:

Success Stories

Ben spoke with members of the KWUK family about the successes they’ve had in April some of their learnings as they grow their businesses, here are some of the key takeaways:

Dominic – Think progress. You’ve got to plan ahead, not just run in head first, get leverage in early and enjoy the ride!

Darren – Time management, leverage, and deciding to just go ultra-local has helped growth. The phone doesn’t stop ringing, our success has given us the freedom to choose what to work on.

Alex – It is important to understand leverage and people’s roles within your team. Understanding the model is vital to your success. First hire is an investment, not a cost, to make the standards repeatable. Make it early.

Have a happy and successful week. RED Day was a warm reminder that soon, we will all be able to participate in life again in those enriching and engaging ways we have missed so dearly. The future is bright, even more so as a member of the Keller Williams UK family.
